Expectations of Young People from Business Life: A Gender and Equality Perspective

Understanding the expectations of young people regarding business life requires not only learning about their needs and priorities, but also taking into account the social context in which these expectations are shaped. Although Türkiye’s young population has a great potential with its dynamic structure, it is imperative to think about how this potential is shaped and how it can be utilised. Especially from the perspective of gender equality, it is impossible not to notice the different priorities of young women and men in their expectations from work. These differences should be read as a reflection of economic and cultural inequalities, geographical differences and even intergenerational values… Therefore, understanding what young people expect from business life provides an opportunity to better understand both inequalities in the labour market and the dynamics of social transformation.
