Urban Walks for Equal Public Spaces: Notes and Recommendations

Exchange for Equal Public Spaces Project, jointly implemented by TESEV and Kallipolis Aps to
strengthen democratic urban governance, aims to advocate for placemaking towards gender equal (GE) public spaces to increase the inclusiveness of public spaces within the framework of the right to the city and to support citizen participation in local policy processes by setting an example in this direction. In this policy brief, we evaluate the results of the activities carried out by TESEV in cooperation with Maltepe Municipality for the Turkish case and offer our recommendations.
