TESEV started the “Supporting Sustainable Cities” project in March 2016 in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Turkey. The first year of the project focused on e-participation as the concept gathering three key components of sustainable city:  governance, technology, and communities.

Experts train local governments, civil society representatives, and unorganized citizens on sustainability, sustainable city, and e-participation on three selected cities. Trainings were conducted with innovative and participatory methods.  Sustainable Development Goals (Global Goals) were the framework for both conceptual and practical parts of the trainings. Participants, following the conceptual training, collaboratively planed  e-participation practices to find solutions for local challenges to reach global goals in their local.

Following the workshops, Ulaş Bayraktar wrote the “Sustainable Cities, e-Participation for a Politics of Local Commons” report that has been presented and discussed among stakeholders.
