Sustainable Development (City, Environment, Energy)

In this new research area, TESEV primarily focuses on sustainable cities. We support sustainable cities by developing evidence based policy recommendations and solutions for the better local economy, active citizenship and sensibility for the environment with the use of new technologies, increased innovation, and improved knowledge management.

TESEV is following the Sustainable Development Goals (Global Goals) process and will create partnerships for the implementation of these goals in Turkey.

Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation launched the “Supporting the Sustainable Cities” project in 2016 in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Turkey. Supporting Sustainable Cities project focuses on e-participation as a concept that gathers governance, technology, and community. We believe that we can improve sustainable cities if work on these three key areas simultaneously.

This year this project focuses on Women Participation for Sustainable CitiesThe project inquiries obstacles women face in participating in social, economic and politic life and aims to provide policy recommendations to achieve a participatory and sustainable city.
